gravy Mushroom Brandy Gravy - This marvelous mushroom gravy recipe, has the added flavor of brandy, and is succulently creamy. Calcium rich milk, and healthy mushrooms are the stars of this supreme sauce, that is cooked stove top, in “Less Than 30 Minutes”. Quick and easy, this gravy is phenomenal.

Cook Time: 18 mins
Main Ingredient: Milk, Mushrooms
Difficulty Level: 2

Ingredients to make Mushroom Brandy Gravy

1 1/2 c Milk
1 lb Fresh mushrooms, cleaned, thin sliced
Cooking spray
3 tb Brandy or dry sherry
3 tb Unbleached white flour
Salt and Pepper

Directions to make Mushroom Brandy Gravy

Step 1:Heat milk just to the boiling point. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2:In a large heavy skillet, saute mushrooms in cooking spray over medium. Add brandy and continue to cook for about 5 more minutes.
Step 3:Gradually sprinkle in the flour and mix in into the mushrooms with a wire whisk. Keep whisking and cooking another 5 minutes. Be sure the heat is not too high.
Step 4:Stir in the hot milk. Cook over low heat, stirring intermittently, until smooth and thickened (about 8 minutes). Season to taste, and remove from heat.
